The first step for this art journal spread was to set up some sacred space for creativity – you can see several of my crystal and stone friends as well as my orange candle at the top of the picture.
Then I grabbed some water resistant wax pastels and got all bubbly.

Next came running a wet brush over the watercolor crayon then using my handy dandy hair dryer to dry this layer so I could keep working.

Then I used a section of a heart shaped stamp to give me the bases of a tree canopy and sketched in the long skinny trunks.

Green water color crayon was added to the canopy of the trees and brushed lightly with water to blend and the trunks were done with water color crayon as well.

Then an elf (pen, watercolor crayon, colored pencil, and charcoal) showed up in the forest. She is sporting the current rage of hair styles for where she’s from – a purple beehive.

Once the elves showed up the butterflies (pen and watercolor crayon) just couldn’t help themselves and came for a visit as well.

Oh mai god this is the cutest thing i have ever seen!!! So beautiful! Love that you took us through the process of your creativity at work!! <3
It was fun to see the progression of your work– love the finished picture.
